Multiflora RosePosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 7 June 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. The flower of an invasive, non-native rose that grows in woods and abandoned fields in Pennsylvania, USA. At this time of year it perfumes the air and decorates the roadsides. Taken last week on our property. I seem to be over my cold. I thank those who wished me well. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

@Dimitrios: Thank you for visiting! I'd lost track of your photoblog, and your visit to mine led me back to enjoy it. Betty from New Jersey, United StatesIt's a beautiful flower for such an annoying plant! It's thorns attacked me while mowing many times! And it's taking over everywhere! But this is a really beautiful photo of the flower, Anita! 7 Jun 2008 10:44am @Betty: Thanks, Betty. We, too, suffer the attacks of this rose. It is a prolific grower, and we have to keep cutting it back, and then cartthe long thorny branches to the burn pile. Long sleeves and leather gloves required. @António Pires: Thank you. I was pleased with the detail in this photo. I'm working on learning to get good detail in the main part of the photo, while letting secondary parts be a bit blurrred. Marcie from United StatesBeautiful. I just came across these this morning..and didn't know what they were. Am not only enjoying your photos..but am getting an education! 7 Jun 2008 6:16pm John Maslowski from Dallas, PA, United StatesBeautiful picture again Anita. I've never seen these in Northeastern PA, that doesn't mean they aren't located here since I'm not a flower person. But thanks to your gorgeous pictures I'm starting to notice flowers more. I'll keep my eye out for these, they are very beautiful. 8 Jun 2008 2:06am @John Maslowski: Thanks. The flowers are small, less than an inch across. You will see large bushes growing in abandoned fields with little white flowers in bloom right now. Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesAnita, the color and sharpness are incredible ... too bad something this pretty has to be a pest! 8 Jun 2008 2:30am @Ron: Thanks. Yes, it is a shame. I think they are in the wrong environment. However, I've decided to enjoy them rather than just curse them. Arash from Dubai, United Arab EmiratesThe colors and details are wonderful here with a great background. 8 Jun 2008 10:17am dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, United Statessuperb! bravo! i must now take a look at your portfolio! :) 16 Jun 2008 1:10am |
