Phlox 2Posted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 27 May 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. A more traditional photo. *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Koushiro~光子郎 from Singapore, SingaporeHaha define "traditional" photo please! They both look splendidly taken! As usual your details on the flower is astounding! Very very cool shot! 27 May 2008 7:37am @Koushiro~光子郎: Thank you so much for your comment! I'm glad you like both of them. By 'traditional" I meant that one can see what the flower looks like to the ordinary eye, but, I get your point. :-) Arash from Dubai, United Arab Emiratesnice composition in a good frames, great tones. 27 May 2008 8:42am @Arash: Thank you, Arash. This is so beautiful, Anita. The even saturation and delicate detail is quite dreamy. 27 May 2008 10:25am Marcie from United StatesAnother purple/green color combination. Something ethereal about this. Love how the image fills the frame and extends beyond. 27 May 2008 11:50am @Marcie: Thank you, Marice. I was pleased with the composition. Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesBeautiful image, Anita. The bokeh is so, so beautiful ... looks painterly in its softness. 27 May 2008 12:35pm @Ron: Thank you. I was pleasantly surprised by the softness. António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalAnother portrait! Fantastic colour, beautiful bokeh. 27 May 2008 1:02pm @António Pires: Thank you so much, Antonio. @Namaki: Thank you. David Ross from Bryn Mawr, United StatesThe two phlox photos capture different notions of dynamics. To my eye, yesterday's conveyed the sense of movement along the surface. The sharpness of the main flower, conveys the sense of movement toward the viewer. It is a gift to create a static image that nevertheless creates a sense of ongoing sensation for the viewer. Please keep experimenting! 27 May 2008 5:06pm ashok from chennai, IndiaExcellent macros n wonderful colors..i jus envy u for having those beautiful flowers posted in ur blog... a nice hunt for ur lens.. 27 May 2008 5:25pm @ashok: Thank you for visiting my photoblog.
