Miterwort (Mitella diphylla)Posted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 6 May 2008 in Plant & Nature. These lovely flowers are tiny. I didn't notice the star until I looked at them through the macro lens. Taken at Ferncliff Wildflower Preserve, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA. last Thursday. Constructive critique welcome, as well as just a friendly visit. THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG! *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Elspeth from St. Augustine, Trinidad and TobagoWow, this is really beautiful and simple. I love the depth of field and the way the flower in the middle is turned away and blurred. Again, you've captured some emotion in the flowers. 6 May 2008 10:43am @Elspeth: Elspeth: Thank you so much for your comment. I am especially happy that my love of flowers shows through in the photos. :-) Marcie from United StatesLove the clarity and simplicity of this image...and the contrast of the yellow and white on green. 6 May 2008 11:44am david r. ross from Bryn Mawr, United StatesOne would never notice the petals around the rim of the flower -- like exotic eyelashes. Thanks for sharing these. 6 May 2008 3:58pm Chris from South Jersey, United StatesHow very delicate - wonderfully captured Anita. I sometimes use a higher contrast, so I appreciate getting this feedback. Betty from New Jersey, United StatesVery nice macro, Anita! Such an interesting tiny flower! Beautiful. 7 May 2008 10:01am @Betty: Thanks. This flower was a fun discovery. It didn't look like much of anything to the naked eye. |
