Shad tree - AmelanchierPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 29 April 2008 in Plant & Nature. This otherwise undistinguished tree produces delicate small flowers in April, sprinkling the woods with dots of white. Constructive critique welcome. THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'B PHOTOBLOG :-) *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

GJC from Kyoto, JapanTerrific as usual. Particularly striking is the stamen visible through the petals of the left-hand flower. I do find that green leaf in the immediate foreground a little distracting. What do you think? Done with your usual careful attention to clarity and light. 29 Apr 2008 11:54am @GJC: Thanks. I completely agree about that leaf being distracting. It is actually in the foreground. I almost didn't post this photo because of it. Thank for mentioning it as it confirms my sense. :-) Betty from New Jersey, United StatesWonderful composition, didn't notice the leaf at first... otherwise, the flower is absolutely beautiful! 29 Apr 2008 12:40pm Monte Stevens from Fort Collins, United StatesDon't even know what a Shad teee looks like but the blossom is beautiful. Well done! 29 Apr 2008 1:48pm Ron from Saint Louis, United StatesStunning detail, Anita, and beautifully composed! 29 Apr 2008 6:03pm Chris from South Jersey, United StatesBeautiful details, colors, and lighting. I also think the green leaf on the left is a little distracting - it pulls the attention away from the flower in focus..... 29 Apr 2008 8:03pm @Chris: I completely agree. Paul Michko from Exton, PA, United StatesVery beautiful and unique composition, Anita. 30 Apr 2008 10:18am |
