TrilliumPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 19 April 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. Taken at Ferncliff Wildflower Preserve, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA, two days ago. I APPRECIATE ALL THE COMMENTS ON MY RECENT PHOTOS :-) +++THANK YOU FOR VISITING!!+++ *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

@fairuz: Thank you for visiting my photoblog! Glad you like thie photo. GJC from Kyoto, JapanOh my. This is amazing. The composition is especially impressive because not only do you have the counterpoint of leaves and petals working in a very strong way for this (touching two borders and pushing us towards a third), but then that one leaf trailing into the left corner . . . Splendid! This flower obviously posed very nicely for you, and you returned the favor with a beautiful image. Thanks for sharing. 19 Apr 2008 1:34pm @GJC: Thank you so much for pointing out what works in this photo. This is my one good photo from 2 hours of picture taking. However, it was maravelous to be out among the fleeting beauty of spring flowers. António Pires from Lisbon, PortugalThis is pure beauty! We should get used to it, by now. 19 Apr 2008 4:01pm @António Pires: Blush :-) David from Bryn Mawr, United StatesGJC's comments helped me understand part of what I like so much about this photo. Savoring the photo allows me to appreciate the delicate lines in the petals in a way I'd be unlikely to do looking at the flower -- and these spring flowers are so fleeting, many of us wouldn't have the chance to see this without your eye and photo. 19 Apr 2008 6:08pm Chris from South Jersey, United StatesWhat a wonderful flower - I had never seen one before. Your image is great - as GJC pointed out the tight (but not too tight!) crop is great and the details again so clear and vivid. 19 Apr 2008 7:24pm standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceThis is wonderful and delicate. Great use of the light and DOF here! 19 Apr 2008 8:04pm Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesGood shot... in theory those should be around here too... but can't find them. 19 Apr 2008 8:39pm @Earnest: Thanks. Too bad about not finding them. A challenge with wildflowers is their very sort bloom time. Some last only a week or so. Stefan from Nassau, United StatesWhat a great capture. I can see every detail and every texture of the flower!!!! 20 Apr 2008 2:18am Susan from Ann Arbor, United StatesBeautifully captured...i love the bokeh you achieved in the background. 20 Apr 2008 2:29am Paul Michko from Exton, United StatesThis has such magnificent detail, Anita. The diffused light really enriches the color saturation also. Wonderfully captured, 21 Apr 2008 10:34am Diane - Daily Walks from EL GRANADA, United StatesEverything about this is just GORGEOUS! 22 Apr 2008 5:56pm |
