Flower of the North American Pitcher PlantPosted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 12 April 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. I was stunned to find this flower blooming on the Pitcher plant (see yesterday's photo) at the Longwood Conservatory when I visited two weeks ago. I had no idea this unusual plant had such gorgeous flowers. THANK YOU FOR VISITING!! *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Well, well rendered. But the composition is your work and is wonderful. 12 Apr 2008 10:38am Earnest from Oklahoma, United StatesAnita, I'm happy to see that you caught this... and the flowers seem to be color coordinated. Do they have a fragrance? 12 Apr 2008 12:25pm @Earnest: I didn't notice a fragrance, but, I was focusing on the visuals. Scotfot from Kabul, AfghanistanDefinitely gorgeous, the darker lining on the edge of the leaves really makes it! 12 Apr 2008 1:30pm Chris from South Jersey, United StatesI have never seen the flowers for this plant either - they are very colorful.
