Calla Lily 1Posted by Anita (West Nottingham, United States) on 1 April 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. I spent yesterday morning taking photos of flowers in Longwood Garden's Conservatory. Joy! THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE BEEN VISITING MY PHOTOBLOG AND FOR THE MANY KIND COMMENTS. YOU MAKE MY DAY. :-) *****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!***** I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography. If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know! A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

@António Pires: Thank you for visiting and commenting! Ronnie 2¢ from London, United KingdomThis is a very fine take of the calla lily. I find them one of those flowers that invite photography but then play hard to get. Very well done . . 1 Apr 2008 3:06pm StarCosmosBleu from Bedford.Qc, CanadaSublime!..a marvelous capture...great beauty 1 Apr 2008 4:45pm Florence from Paris, FranceNice angle Anita... splendid flower, like a very smart hat ! :-) 1 Apr 2008 9:17pm Paul Michko from Exton, PA, United StatesSimply magnificent, Anita. Your composition is great and the translucence is gorgeous. A true stunner. 2 Apr 2008 10:06am GJC from Kyoto, JapanThis is stunning. I like the short DOF and how you have the band of diffuse light in the center behind the lilly. And the angle you've taken here is superb. You've show how beautiful sculpturally the flower is. Really marvelous. 2 Apr 2008 9:42pm John Maslowski from Dallas, PA, United StatesTruly a beautiful shot. I like the composition, it's different. Very creative, really like this picture. 3 Apr 2008 2:00am David from Bryn Mawr, United StatesParticularly from a distance, the bloom seems to be floating in a green space. It reminds me of a dancer's cape cape swirling in a mad dance. Yet at the same time you are communicating all that energy, you've captured with sharpness every edge, every curve in this gift to Creation. 5 Apr 2008 7:49pm @Martine Lapointe: I'm glad you like it. Thank you!! Barbara from Florida, United StatesStunning! This one caught my eye as did all of your other magnificent flowers images. Very nice work and detail. Each one well titled. 17 Apr 2008 2:28am @Barbara: Thank you, Barbara. I'm glad you visited my photoblog and that you enjoyed the flower photos. I love flowers. |
