Backlit Lily

This lily came from my floral design class. It was on my kitchen counter as I cooked dinner. The setting sun coming in through the window lit it up creating interesting shadows. Dinner was late that night. :-)

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Wonderful image - I understand stopping and taking photos when the light it right. Everything else can wait, but the lighting will pass and you need to take advantage of it.

The light is wonderful. I'm glad you saw this while you were cooking, because it shows that even during your daily routine you're seeing like a photographer. Well done.
