Another macro of a lily from Longwood Gardens. I spent several hours there last Friday.

*****THANK YOU FOR VISITING ANITA'S PHOTOBLOG!*****

I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography.

If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know!

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

Another stunning shot, Anita! The color and composition here are just gorgeous. I've spent the past two Saturday mornings shooting at the Missouri Botanical Garden (the camellias are in bloom). I thought it would be easy to get beautiful shots of beautiful flowers, but I've found that it's really quite difficult to get all the elements to come together. I'll keep working at it, and, in the meantime, I'll return here often for inspiration. Thanks!

@Ron: Thanks for your positive comments!
How lovely to have camelias blooming! I look forward to seeing some of your flower photos on your blog. I come home with lots of shots and discover that only a few are OK.

Oooh! That's beautiful! And cool! Now i think i recognize the type of lily. is it by any chance a spider lily?

18 Feb 2008 1:58pm

@Koushiro: Thank you for your positive comment! I don't know the type of lily as there was no name on it.

Gloria Alvarez from Barcelona-Menorca, Spain

A brilliant macro. It seems that the flower is exibiendo its offering "voluptuosamente" to call to the insects. Congratulations.
I hope that the translation is correct.

@Gloria Alvarez: Yes. Correct! I agree. Thank you for your comment!
