I welcome your honest critique, especially if they will improve my photography.

If I have made a mistake in a flower identification, please let me know!

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

I love hydrangeas! I lost mine a couple of years ago along with my entire front yard when we had to dig it all up because of an oil leak that contaminated our property. It was one of my saddest casualties of that whole mess. I tried to save it but without luck.

@Laurie: How sad to lose all your front yard plantings! We feared a leak from our underground tank, and were so relieved to have it replaced several years ago before any leaks sprung.

@Elisa: Thanks. Your comment gives me the idea of experimenting with some filters with it.

Lovely colors, light and shape of the petals. You capture this very well. I visited Longwood little more than a year ago. It is a very beautiful place. I love the old buildings on the ground as well. Actually my profile page has an image taken at Longwood; http://barbaraann.aminus3.com/about/
It is one of my favorite photos.
