Leaves in Icy Pond

The large sycamore leaf first attracted my attention at the edge of our pond, mixed with water and some ice.

A few words about the EXIF data, beginning in April when I began using Nikon D300 and the Sigma 105mm macro: My new camera and macro lens record the relative or effective f stop, not the one seen on the lens. For an explanation of this, go to the next to the last question at this site.

I like the composition and the earthy colors. The photo is also well framed. A pleasing pic.

I too like the earthy tones in this shot, Anita. The detail is superb and there is just so much to look at. The eyes moves around effortlessly finding new elemets and visual treats. Excellent work.

Wonderful image - lots of colors, shapes and textures to look at. I especially like the leaves under the ice. You couldn't have taken this in the last day or so - it has been so warm in our neck of the woods!

@Chris: I took it on Friday, 1/4. There was a little ice left on some of the pond edges. But, yes, it was before this "heat wave."

Another stunning leaf shot! Your shots make me "giddy" inside.
I really like how you can see all of the different types of leaves. Wow...this would make a Great "Fall" note card....or even a Thanksgiving card! Wonderful Job!
