Pues de verdad que sí, gran sorpresa... Pero tus flores y el tratamiento que les das, siempre son una alegría para la vista de los que las admiramos cada día, aunque no siempre haya un comentario.

WHOA!! Not at all what I expected when I opened your blog. I like that you decided to go beyond flowers here. Flowers are so beautiful that they can entrap you. Always nice to exercise the imagination every once in a while. Matter of fact, I just wrote about that on my blog this morning.

Makes me think of fireworks; an explosion!

Anita, I think perhaps you are too hard on yourself from time to time. What is a "favorite" to one might not be to another.....and vice versa. "You can please some of the people some of the time..."

And, we learn by trying new techniques. Just think how far you have grown with your texture usage. Keep your experiments coming. Your work is stunning.

In this image, the texture is not so integrated as in your other images. I mean, there is the flower over a textured background, and not as if everything existed on the same surface (similar to a drawing, a painting).

Very unusual off centre composition that work pretty well. I like the negative space here as the texture nicely complements the flower. The texture is much better than just plain black background.

Sorry the Longwood mood did not take you this time - happens, and all you can do is walk away and try another day. Meanwhile, we benefit with this frail but determined little flower looking out into the big world. The unusually sharp angle works very well in emphasizing fragility.

I perceive this supernatural, like some futuristic space thing. In my view it would have been a bit better, if the focus had been on the centre of the "flower" (I know you have little DOF to work with). - And now suddenly I realize that your vignetting has been added around the core of the "flower". Right?

Anita, this is one of those images that, while technically well done, just doesn't hit the excite button. Maybe its because it is a comp that one sees so often.

Very nice, Anita. I really like the effect made by white vignette. I think that it would be even better without that green part in ULC. I wish you good weather while your trip to Longwood Gardens. I'm always a bit envy when I hear that you (or any other photographer) is going to spent a day somewhere examining and capturing the beauty of nature while I must sit whole day in the office :(
