I am tentatively entering photoblogging. My first inspiration was Kathleen Connally's "A Walk Through Durham Township." I visit her site daily and am inspired by the progress she has made as a photographer since starting her blog several years ago. I was further encouraged by the photoblogs of Laurie Jackson ("Parallel Universe" & "Capture This") and Kim Parsell ("KP Images"), amateur photographers like myself.

I have enjoyed photos all my life, starting with my Dad's photos in albums and slides, and National Geographic. Digital photography created the opportunity for growth as a photographer. I love the instant feedback on the computer and not relying on a lab.

I am strictly an amateur. I photograph what I love. Photographs open up the world to me, allowing me to see what's around me in ways I don't normally. Sometimes this discovery is made as I take the photo, and sometimes when I see the photo on my monitor.

I live on a 15 acre property in semi-rural southeast Pennsylvania, USA, with my husband, 4 cats, 2 dogs and 2 sheep. I recently retired after homeschooling my son for his entire life. He is now in his first year of college, giving me time to pursue my interests in growing and arranging flowers, reading, knitting and walking.
